Additional Services
Another service that Wilmington Regional Transit would like to develop is a Mental Health & Intellectual Development Disability (MH-IDD), Veteran, MATP, PwD, ADA, Senior transportation service.
This transportation service will encourage economic self- sufficiency for people with all types of disabilities, which requires transportation.
Lack of transportation creates a barrier for people with IDD from meaningful participation in everyday activities that promote high quality community living experiences.
In the Spring of 2024, WRT will offer direct charter service to Washington, DC, Baltimore, New York.
We all offer Parcel and Package delivery services.
Wilmington Regional Transit offer employee transportation services. The fares are by the zone the employees live and work.
The fares are fixed and are weekly(7days), which means, if an employee have a 5day schedule, but would like to use the two remaining days of the week as overtime, the fare will remain the same, because it is within that 7day work week.
The pros of using WRT employee transportation:
7 days a week, one fixed fare, round trip daily.
Pickup is close to home, and dropped off directly in front of place of employment. No more long walks to or from bus stops in inclement weather.
Same driver on trips to form a relationship with and can get answers to questions.
Safety, Safety, Safety, we are under a drug and alcohol consortium, FBI fingerprinted, physical certificate of each driver in bus.
No more ride shares fares to be reimbursed, you know you have a safe ride home.
